----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Adventure Theatre continues its literary series for the 2007-2008 season with seven popular children's book adaptations. Experience the journey from reading the books at home to seeing the plays unfold before your eyes on the newly renovated, high tech stage at Adventure Theatre. Co-sponsored by Friends of the Library, Little Falls Chapter. (Books are available at the Little Falls Library.) There is only one designated Book Club performance for each play, held on a Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------- Get your ticket to the hottest field trip around! Elementary school students in grades 4-6 can now enjoy an educational and entertaining 45 minute play titled "Clara Barton, the Courage Within" at Adventure Theatre. After the play, students can visit nearby Clara Barton National Historic Site where Miss Barton lived and conducted the Red Cross for fifteen years. Tuesdays at 10 a.m. during the academic year for school groups and other large groups of age-appropriate children. Tickets $8.00. Minimum 50-person audience. No charge for visiting the historic home.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Carousel tours start at noon and give visitors a closer look at the beautiful 1921 Dentzel carousel. Find out how it was made, how it works, and about the rest of the amusement park attractions that were built around it. Hear about the civil rights protests and the inspiring story of how the town rallied together to save the carousel. Admission is free and all tours are also offered by appointment at (301) 320-1400. Tours begin at the visitor's desk in the Arcade Building.

"Cinderella"

An elegant production of the classic children's favorite. Set in 17th-century France, the story combines beautifully elaborate costumes and Offenbach's "Gaiety Parisian" to adorn the tale of the cinder girl who captures the heart of the handsome prince. The production was acclaimed at the 1997 National Puppet Festival, and performed at the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta. Playing time is 45 minutes. ASL performance: May 11 at 1 p.m.

Shape, Color, and Texture: Recent Works in Clay

Glen Echo Pottery and the Popcorn Gallery presents an exhibition of the work of twelve Glen Echo Park potters showcasing their unique "dialogues with clay." The pieces demonstrate the creative combinations of shape, surface texture, and glazing that each potter uses to take the clay from concept to completion. Opening Reception May 3, 5 - 7pm.
