After Camp Counselors

The Glen Echo Park Partnership is seeking Part Time After Camp Counselors.  We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced counselors to lead and assist with After Camp programs for campers ages 5-12 from, June 20 through September 2, 2016.  The ideal candidate will have experience creating curriculum, and supervising and/or working with children in a camp or class setting. This part time position offers approximately 18-23 hours per week, June 20 through August 26, 1:45/2:45pm – 6:15pm, Monday through Friday. Carousel Attendants

The Glen Echo Park Partnership is seeking Carousel Attendants to work on the historic 1921 Dentzel carousel for the 2016 season. Carousel Attendants provide operating support by assisting in the loading and unloading of riders, supervising rider safety, collecting tickets on a moving carousel and selling tickets. Carousel Attendants also help with opening and closing procedures and light maintenance tasks. Hours correspond with operating hours for the carousel: April 30 - August 28, Wed - Fri from 10 am - 2 pm and Sat - Sun from 12 - 6 pm; Sept 3 - 25, Sat - Sun from 12 - 6 pm. Additional hours are also available. Applicants must be 16 years or older, speak English fluently, be able to walk or stand on your feet for multiple hours and work in all weather conditions.

Carousel Operator
The Glen Echo Park Partnership is seeking a Carousel Operator to work on the historic 1921 Dentzel carousel for the 2016 season. Duties include overseeing opening and closing procedures, operating the carousel during open hours, acting as shift leader, enforcing safety rules and performing maintenance tasks on the carousel, band organ, and carousel building. This is a seasonal position from April through October with an average of 30-40 hours per week from May through September based on the operating schedule, and at least 10 hours and up to 40 hours per month in both April and October for maintenance. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, have a minimum 5 years facility or building maintenance knowledge and experience, a minimum 2 years experience in both managing employees and customer service, and the ability to walk or stand on your feet for multiple hours in all weather conditions.

Social Dance Instructor

Glen Echo Park is seeking proposals for social dance classes in the areas of Carolina Shag, Country and Line Dancing, Hand Dance, Latin variations, Swing variations, American and International Ballroom styles.  Applicants must have relevant teaching and/or professional experience and must include a resume along with their proposals. Part-time Visual Arts Instructor

The Glen Echo Park Partnership seeks part-time assistants to provide multidisciplinary visual arts programs for children 12 and under for the Art Explorers Family Art Studio and/or Glen Echo Park Art Birthday Parties.

Duties include leading visual arts activities in a classroom setting for children and/or children and families, maintaining administrative and supply records, and providing general customer service to Park patrons. Art Explorers Family Art Studio shift hours are Saturdays, 9:30am to 1pm.  Art Birthday Parties are generally Saturday or Sunday afternoons, 3 to 6pm.  Applicants must have a B.A. in visual arts or education and teaching experience in visual arts for ages 6 – 16, as appropriate.  Must be 18 or older.
