Marilyn Nugent

Marilyn has been working with glass for more than thirty years.  She started in stained glass, then learned fusing techniques.  Most of her twelve years as a resident artist at Glen Echo were devoted to fusing and casting glass. Marilyn began glass beadmaking before moving to Lewes, DE, where she maintains a studio devoted to lampworking beads.  She has received numerous awards for her work, including a grant from the D.C. Division of the Arts.  She presents her work at craft fairs and several local galleries.

I love teaching bead making and am happy to pass on any and all of the skills that I possess.  Making beads is a Zen-like activity requiring one's full attention.  It requires good coordination and the ability to focus.  If you like making small, beautiful objects, lampworking might be for you, too.
