Fall Frolic 2011_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
join us for FALL FROLIC An afternoon of fall fun for kids & families! Saturday, October 29, 2011, 1 pm - 4 pm
Due to the cold weather, Fall Frolic will be held in the Spanish Ballroom! _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Fall Frolic is the Glen Echo Park Partnership's annual festive Halloween-themed family event. It's open to the public, and visitors of all ages are invited to the Park to explore the arts through hands-on crafts, Halloween activities, and performances. It’s a safe and fun Halloween event with something for everyone!
Our special Halloween festivities take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
For the kids, there will be pumpkin decorating and face painting ($1 fee for pumpkin; $1 and $2 for face painting). All other craft activities are free, including decorating trick or treat bags, making a spooky spider or a friendly ghost and coloring Halloween pictures. Also free is our Pumpkin Promenade – a simple maze that children can walk through and pick up prizes.
Adults will enjoy strolling through the Park’s open studios and galleries, including Glen Echo Pottery, the Art Glass Center, Photoworks, Yellow Barn Studio & Gallery, and more. Adults can also browse our Pumpkin Showcase, with pumpkins carved and decorated by the Park’s Resident Artists and instructors.
The Halloween celebration will conclude with a costume parade through the Park at 3:30 p.m.
Presented by the Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture, Inc., this fun-filled day will have children and adults alike enjoying all that the Park has to offer. Come in the morning and stay all day! Park activities begin at 10 a.m., when Living Classrooms weekend family program begins, and continue though the evening with a swing dance class and a special Halloween swing dance in the Spanish Ballroom beginning at 8 p.m. Visitors may also take in a show at Adventure Theatre or the Puppet Co., the Park’s two popular children’s theaters.
