Photoworks is a unique learning center providing a personalized atmosphere for students to develop their visual talents in photography. Small classes, a variety of courses and a professional faculty of commercial and fine art photographers allow each student to develop his/her technical and aesthetic photo abilities.
Photoworks Studio, in the Park's Arcade building, is equipped for b/w film development and printing with an enlarger for each student, two film developing rooms, and a mat cutting area. The digital studio is equipped with six new iMacs, 2eMacs, scanners and two Epson printers (2200 and 3800). All chemicals are provided. Students provide camera, film and paper. Laptops are encouraged for digital classes. The exhibition space provides an opportunity for showing work by emerging and professional photographers.
Open Studio and Gallery hours are Sunday, 1pm to 8pm; Monday, 1-8pm by appointment one week in advance, 3 hours minimum.
The Open Darkroom and Digital Lab is open to former and current students and individuals with darkroom and/or digital experience.
